Saffron
Saffron is the translation of saffron is the scientific name of Crocus sativus. This product is the name of a plant, dark (bee, cold) saffron that has many properties such as medicine and food coloring. According to the statistics of 1998, Iran is the largest producer and exporter of saffron in the world with an annual production of 330 tons and export of 280 tons of this product. Among the provinces of Khorasan Razavi and South Khorasan, with a share of 85%, they have the largest share in the production of Iranian saffron. Saffron cultivation is also practiced in some other provinces of the country, including North Khorasan, Yazd, Golestan, Hamedan, Fars and Isfahan. The share of these provinces in saffron production is generally less than 10%.
